Casual approach to technical cycling clothing is perfect for hard rides followed by drinks at a bar, burritos at a taqueria, or swapping post-ride stories at the local bike shop.
The fit was comfortable and didn’t pull awkwardly while pedaling because of the small amount of stretch from the Spandex.
The Club Ride Savvy short might just be the most comfortable mountain bike short I’ve ever tried on. The fabric is lightweight and the cut is loose. On the trail, I almost forgot I was wearing shorts.
The shape of the hem is a nice touch, setting them apart from other shorts on the market. It’s a subtle detail that I think gives them a more relaxed vibe than just your standard straight edge pant leg. With an 11” inseam, these shorts land right above the knee cap and have plenty of room to fit knee pads.
The Savvy short is unlike any other mountain bike shorts we’ve tested, they are incredibly lightweight, thin, and stretchy making them ideal for those hot summer days. The drawstring helps you dial in the fit around the waist while the 11” inseam gives good coverage on the bike.
If these had a slightly higher rise, it would be perfect. I am 5'10" and they muffin-top me a little in a strange place. I thought I would struggle with them sliding down, but they stay put pretty well.
The Savvy shorts are my favorite mountain bike shorts. They're so comfortable on rides, come in great colors, have functional hand pockets, and look good off the bike too. I have purple and red from 2020 and the fit is baggy, with an elastic drawstring at the waist I have to keep knotted to keep the shorts up. The 2022 wood rose color is great, but the sizing runs smaller, so I exchanged the size small for medium to maintain the same fit as the shorts I know and love. The new ones also have a zipper fly, which is fine, but I think I liked the old style better - when they had only buttons there was just one less thing to think about - really not a big deal though.
I like the shorts the fit is good, I am not a huge fan of the drawstring, it makes the waist fit a little funny
These are the best shorts for riding and casual pursuits have I ever owned! I now have three pairs. Bought them for riding and everyday casual wear, they’ve already spent 2.5 weeks on the river and bunch of days on rock as well. I wore them nearly everyday of the summer.
The cut fits me well and as an athletic woman I am often frustrated by how narrow leg openings don’t accommodate athletic quads. Not true with these, they fit perfectly!
I love the weight of the fabric and how much it stretches.
I also appreciate the pocket placements and the over all look. I also appreciate the lack of zipper as it keeps the shorts light and makes them great for swimming. I’m bummed to hear it’s coming back in 2022, so I might pick up pair number 4 before then.
I’m pleasantly surprised with how well the fabric has held up during that time, even after a bunch of days rafting and rock climbing.
