As good as it gets

I've been cycling up to 5,000 miles per year for 40+ years and have tried just about every kind of seat, shorts, liners, and combinations thereof. These Johnsons, worn under high-quality non-padded shorts, paired with my current leather saddle, are the best ever. I bought a couple to try out, rode way longer than 1 hour in them (50 and 60 miles), then immediately ordered 6 more pairs. Every positive comment made by other reviewers was true for me as well. One caveat, though. The rating of undershorts by "designed-for" hours of comfort seems over-simplistic. I would warn against taking the notion of more padding equals more comfort too literally, given how many other things affect comfort in the saddle. Personally, if I had taken those ratings seriously and bought the 4-hour Whatevers, I suspect they'd feel the least, not most, comfortable both on and off the bike, way too much wadding up the wazoo.

Light, very well-ventilated, cool and comfortable, with just a little padding to smooth out short rides. Great!

Comfort On and Off the Bike

I have a 10 mile commute to work and the Johnson works perfectly to provide the right amount of padding for the ride. They are also very comfortable to wear off the bike during the day; a great boxer brief. I bought one pair to test them out for my commute and have bought two more, after the positive experience. A great product!

Great pair of bike undies.

Great pair of bike undies. The material is super comfortable and hugs the important bits well. My only con is I wish pad was a bit thicker. Overall I am very pleased and will continue to ride them, as well as order the 3hr pair.
