Size is smaller than the other shorts

I bought these to replace my last year Joe Dirts as I wore out the seat. This years version is at least 1 in narrower in the waist than last year's. I ordered the exact same size (L) and they did not fit! I couldn't understand why so I held my last years up to this years to compare and sure enough, this years are smaller. Their other shorts still fit true to size but for some reason the Joe Dirt is skinnier. I would say size up one size. In the photo the tan short is 2023, the navy is 2024.

For reference, I'm 5'11", 195lb, muscular build and usually wear a 34" waist in pants.

Rated 3 stars for messing up the sizing. Otherwise they're great shorts.

Fit Comments: As I said in the review. My legs are a bit big and tight shorts look funny on me, so I bought the next size up and put a took the waist in a bit. I usually alter stuff, so no worries. Easy to do.

Comfy shorts for sure

I bought a pair of these in Nagano, Japan and I must say these are the most comfortable shorts I have worn in a long time. I am even wearing them around as normal shorts. I like a baggier fit, so I got the next size up and just took the waist in a bit with some thread. If I had bought the mediums I would say perfect fit, but I bought a large. Love the color which is better than the photo even. I bought the greenish ones. The phone pocket is perfect for a normal sized iPhone and the silver dollar pocket is deep enough for your car remote key. On rides, I put that in my pack, but for around town CR actually made this pocket useful. I live in a humid climate and while they seem like winter material, they wick the moisture nicely. Home run guys.

no good for mountain biking

Bought these in December on sale and have used the for about 6 months. While these shorts seem to be well made they have some real problems starting with the fabric which is a fine cord type material. the shorts hold moisture and do not breath. Also the fabric has near zero stretch. The pants stick to your legs while peddling and restrict any movement to the side. They are totally unsuited to mountain bike riding and are a bad value even at their sale price. These are only good for casual use walking around. Completely disappointed in these pants

I love these shorts, they fit perfectly and look good. Great material and texture.

Men joe Dirt Shorts

I ended up having to return this pair. Only because the description was not clear as to the heavy material that they are made of. They seem to be a great piece of clothing just not be worn in warm temperatures.

Better than the picture

I got a pair of the Joe Dirt street trail shorts because I needed a pair of cycling shorts that weren't the traditional skin tight lycra shorts. I was in need of a good, comfortable pair of shorts that I could commute to work, ride out to the grocery store, or ride the trails to a beer joint without people looking at me like "what a weirdo..." These shorts fit the bill and are really comfortable. I.E. they expand a bit.

Nice quality, but tight fit and way too low in the waist.

When adding a girdle you need a size bigger than normal

Sturdy fabric but fit is always difficult for me as I am between a small and medium sized fella.

Waistband elastic/Velcro is terrible.

On each side of the waistband, inside the short, there is Velcro that allows the adjustment of the elastic. It does not work well at all. The Velcro is weaker than the elastic and does not hold. Every time I pull up the shorts, the Velcro comes loose. Kinda sucks. I’m planning to adjust the Velcro where I want it and sew it down.

Nice short but weird fit

Fabric is nice, but fit isn’t great. To tight. I have other CR shorts that are the same size and fit great. These appear to be cut smaller

Shorts are great...company not so much

Shorts are great...functional and stylish...but if you have a question or need help with a product/order gooooood luck. You're on your own. I have tried to reach Club Ride via phone, email and even IG. No one bothered to respond. Also, I processed a return for an item and the refund took forever. Sad to see a company with such great products show zero respect for their customers. I probably own 15 CR shorts/shirts. It's not cool.

Best Joe Dirt's Yet!!

Joe Dirt's are my "go to" mtb shorts. The new material has a little stretch to them but the shorts stay up in the wicked heat and humidity when riding in the SE. I like the 10" length as when your shorts are wet with sweat and humidity, then tend to droop over the tops of the knees, which can be annoying when pedaling uphills. Just great mtb shorts. I also like the previous version but they wore out in the butt fairly quickly (although I do very long rides an ride a lot). I'm hoping the new material holds up longer. So far, so good!

Solid performers

Just one ride in, but living up to expectations. Fit well, feels durable and are no worse for wear after a low side wipe out.

Perfect shorts?!?

You just know when you’ve finally found the garment that fits, is durable, well crafted and easy on the eye. And it can take so long to find them. I found them. It’s all I’ll be wearing. And am dead serious about that!

The legs got thinner

I bought this same pair of shorts last year and the leg holes were way roomier. I still have and wear those. The new ones almost feel like spandex when I ride. Super tight fit not meant for biker thighs.

I preferred the roomier fit. By larger for sure.
