Finally a chamois underwear brief without a thick pad. The Johnson is your pick for limitless versatility. From pub crawling with your crew, to indoor spin class, to riding with Quinton at Over The Edge Hurricane in the techy area of Hurricane, Utah where you're standing more than sitting (his favorite liner), the Johnson is a perfect chamois to have in your quiver. At the Sun Valley office, we like it for our hot lap lunch rides and NICA coaching sessions.
We developed the ultra breathable fabric to be soft and comfy, wicking and quick dry so go ahead and push it to the limits of physical use.

Poor quality control

Pad was not lined up when sewn in. Front of the pad is close to being centered, but the back is off, making the pad not sit as it should.

Did a 25 mike singletrack ride, and they seemed to be ok.

Quality is definitely good

Quality is definitely good. But these are so light on cushion that it’s just not doing anything for you.

Great riding shorts

Great riding shorts especially for urban rides with stops where you don't want to feel like you wearing a large chamois.

Comfortable lightweight

The material is super soft, like the full chamois. the padding is thin and not too bulky. it has just enough padding to make the spin bike comfortable. its a very good choice for short outdoor rides or on the indoor bike.

I love my johnson

I love my johnson. CHAMOIS! My Johnson Chamois!
These are great for my bike commuting. Just enough padding for the 45 minute ride in and out of work. They're quick drying so any sweat from the ride doesn't make me feel damp at work. Only hit is that I wish there was an opening in the front for ease of using the bathroom.

Snuggles and Support

Nice chamois ..... one that can offer support while on the saddle and feel like you are wearing a silk pair of boxers. Lightweight and breathable. Comfortable enough to keep wearing long after the ride. Bought 3 pairs, no regrets.

Perfect chamois for me

Perfect chamois for me. I can't stand chamois with pads that make me feel like I'm wearinga dipart. These have just enough padding to protect the boys from over-excited dropper posts and wear/feel just like normal boxer briefs.

Perfect for my rides

These are very light weight with minimal padding and perfect for what I need. My rides are typically 2 hours on technical trails in the hot and humid midwest. They breathe very well and seem like nothing is there. The amount of padding is dialed for this kind of riding. I’ve had them for a short time and can’t comment on how long they’ll hold up. The sizing chart was spot on for me. Very happy so far.

good, but minimalist

I like these shorts and the 4 star review isn't a knock against them so much as a comment on my expectations. I knew they would be a a lightweight, low profile chamois, but they are even more so than I expected. They are definitely comfortable and they work great for their intended purpose, but the padding is truly negligible. These are one step removed from compression underwear. The good news is that they don't bind or create any kind of irritation - I just thought perhaps they would have a touch thicker pad. I'll happily use them for short jaunts, but will go with something thicker for anything else.

Lightweight chamois really does mean lightweight.

First off, the construction and material of the shorts is great. Very comfortable and very breathable. Beyond that, the chamois is incredibly thin. In my opinion, if you can wear these and be comfortable... you probably don't need a chamois at all. If comparing these to wearing no chamois, they might add 5-10% more seat time comfort than if you didn't have anything on.

Just got a second pair

These are great! I'm not riding the Tour De France, I don't need overkill... just a basic set of shorts that do the job comfortably. And if I can't take them off right away, I appreciate that I don't feel like I am wearing Depends.

Great Low Profile Chamois with comfort

It seems to be harder than necessary to find a low profile chamois that has comfort & natural movement anymore but Club Ride nailed it with the Johnson Chamois 7”. No diaper feel at all after a hot & dusty full bike park day. I’ll be ordering more in the future. Thanks CR!
