MOUNTAIN LIFESTYLE CLOTHING
Club Ride is irreverent mountain lifestyle clothing. Mike Herlinger founded Club Ride between working at an outdoor store and racing bikes on the weekend. His vision was to create clothing that spoke to the lifestyle lead by the mountain bikers, hikers, raft guides, and ski bums creating their own opportunities in mountain towns. 11 years after inception Club Ride has spearheaded the bike lifestyle clothing category. It is still designed from a bike perspective but celebrates the outdoor pursuits of every weekend warrior working late to save hours for a long weekend or waxing skis at night for a powder day. The designs have improved, fabrics have advanced, but the soul of Club Ride holds true with irreverent style, technical fabrics, and mountain vibes.
In the spring of 2008, Mike Herlinger had just finished another great ride on some of Sun Valley, Idaho’s epic, local singletrack. Basking in the post-ride afterglow, he realized he was running late and needed to get back to town to meet some friends at the local watering hole for a burger and some cold beers. Moment of decision: take the extra time to run home and change, or turn heads at the restaurant in his Lycra kit. Opting for the wardrobe change, he arrived at home to ditch the Lycra and don more suitable attire. When he grabbed one of his well-loved, vintage Western shirts, he had an idea. “How cool would it be if I could just ride in this shirt?”. From that simple question, Club Ride was born and has been built on the conviction that cycling apparel can be both technical and stylish.
Our Roots
The Wood River Valley in South Central Idaho is no stranger to the adventurous. The land was explored by early fur traders and later populated into towns by miners and prospectors whom were eager to build a dream. In time, Sun Valley became the first U.S. mountain destination by way of the Union Pacific Railroad. Sun Valley became a recreational and cultural hub not only in the ski season, but throughout the entire year. Since its origin, Sun Valley has given birth to a number of world-renowned companies that forged their path through innovation. Club Ride has continued down this path, pulling inspiration from the mountains and bringing dreams to reality through hard work and perseverance.
