I have worn versions of the Johnson for years and is the only liner I wear, if I use one at all. I am in the camp of little or no chammy and never butter even for multi week tours or the longest of day rides so don't get hung up on the 1 hour rating. The quality in gearI hope for is that it should disappear and these do. So much so that on a tour I often forget that I am wearing Johnson until I get ready for bed. Unheard of in normal chammy's.
Worthy of your investment...super light....lasts through years of washings...I ride in these underliner shorts with the Fat Jack pants for over 3 hours at a time on some days...small/thin enough padding yet very cush... I also have the 2 hr but this is my go to because even the 2 hour seems thick on your butt which just isn't always the best feeling even though they too are great for even more cush
Recently purchased medium and thought they were a little small. Tried these in a large and they fit but I do prefer the medium.
Also, 1-hour liner is light and works well, even 1+ rides.
These padded liner shorts fit well and are quite comfortable. The thin padding is minimal - but they're perfect for short hour-or-so rides, as described.
These are the only padded liners worth owning. The fit is great, never ride up my legs, and the padding is perfect even on rides well over an hour. I wear these under shorts and pants for daily commuting (20 mile round trip) and on longer weekend rides over 50 miles and never had issues with chafing or sores. I now have five pairs so I can wear a fresh pair every day. These are so great that I am considering thermal bib tights without a pad so I can wear these underneath and not have to wash the tights after every ride.
