The material looks like a heavy woven, but they, too, are surprisingly light. If you don’t like the feel of synthetics or nylon, these are 98% cotton with 2% spandex for stretch.
I’ve spent the last month in my Joe Dirts, working at my desk, walking, riding my bike, relaxing with family, and I love them. They are made to last and are much better quality than my old alternatives. Whilst they are super comfy and non-restrictive when active, the material is heavier than my other biking shorts, and that does make them a little warmer.

The Joe Dirt shorts buck the bike trend a bit featuring more of a casual/workwear type of design that you’d pick for a day of hanging out before a big day in the saddle. That being said, the 4- Way stretch and gusseted crotch mean that the Joe Dirt is still at home on the bike. The buttoned phone pocket keeps your phone out of the way while pedaling yet secure enough to not worry about it falling out when you are taking the spicy route to the office or your next brewery stop.
These are a sort of do-it-all short, and are stretchy and moveable enough for a ride, or hauling meteors in a Radio Flyer to the next town.
These shorts are well made and stylish all in one
My wife likes the green color!
Unfortunately, these shorts absolutely require a belt in order to ride with them - even with the belt the “tug” factor was far too high. I was having to stop and tug up the waist every 15 minutes - very annoying. I think the back side of the waist needs to be cut an inch higher than it is
My favorite shorts.
These shorts are very comfortable & they are great for cycling or everyday use. The material is very durable & the pocket options are multifunctional.
At first I thought these might be a little too snug, but they've seemed to have loosened up a bit as I wear them. I have bigger thighs, so they're a little snug for me there, but overall very slim fitting and comfortable. I normally wear a 35/36 waist and these seem to be spot on there. Plus there is Velcro waist adjustments if the waist is slightly too loose for some. A little higher above the knee than I expected for a 12" outseam.
