M's Shaka Flannel
Born to be warm, can’t help but be cool. The Shaka is made with our moisture wicking, keep warm poly yarn to keep you toasty on the chilliest of adventures. Overheating is managed with venting under the arms and easy to fasten brushed snaps. Look cool, feel warm and stay dry. Store your media device or other goodies in the rear zipper pocket, and feel safe cruising the town after dark with reflective accents.
The Shaka flannel – it's made of polyester rather than cotton, and has mesh underarm vents to keep air moving and prevent its wearer from overheating. I'd call it a mid-weight flannel, one that would work for chilly fall rides.
Flannels are my go to in the fall. Whether I'm wearing them to commute, work, or mountain bike, they're a staple. That said, you can't just wear any ole flannel mountain biking without quickly regretting your decision. Club Ride has done a great job of making these both warm and extremely breathable.
In addition to providing excellent wicking ability, the polyester fabric also does a good job insulating on cool days. Even in the fall and winter, heat management is important for comfort, so Club Ride has built in strategic ventilated panels in the underarms. Not only that, since the jersey is a button-down, the front of the jersey is naturally ventilated between the snaps, and can easily be opened up when temperatures rise.
Great fit and feel of flannel. Like the snap buttons and the sippered pockets.
Sneaky shirt! Let’s you pull of a work/casual look without having to change before going out for a ride.
I’m 5’-11” and 220lbs. If my gut was any bigger the XL would be too snug. The shirt is warmer than I anticipated, which is great! Like the colors and pattern. When I first opened it I was looking for the back pocket and couldn’t find it, I had to look on the inside of the shirt to help me locate the zipper. They do a great job of hiding it, once you know where it’s located it’s easy to use. Love the snap buttons so much better than the normal buttons on my regular flannel shirts, very easy to snap and unsnap for those long climb climbs that get me overheated.
Match these up with a merino wool long sleeve and toasty through the worst conditions. So far love it.
Love this flannel both on and off the bike. Super warm and yet stylish. Love that about Club Ride. I am just in between sizes at 6'1 225 and opted for the XXL and am glad i did. It gives me just enough room to layer with a wool underlayer on those cold fat bike days.
