Tempest Pant Review

I was expecting the usual great pants when I received my recent Tempest pant purchase. I wasn't expecting the quality of the pants I received. Club Ride has done it again with great innovations like zippers on six of the pockets, a stretch pocket on the right side for your phone and the reinforced gusseted crotch. Besides the great items previously mentioned the material they used for the Tempest pants are smoother, warmer and the fit is perfect. I was happy I bought two pair (Charcoal and Khaki). I'm looking forward on testing these out on the trails soon. These are the best mountain biking pants I've ever bought and I highly recommend them.

They have done it again

I was skeptical at first with sizing per the big gap from L to XL, but they do break 'in very nicely. This is my third pair of club ride pant, and they keep getting better each time. Just only wish they would keep some of their innovations for the current version like the Heavy-Duty External Belt Webbing and Hook Waist Adjustment, Snap Loops on Both Legs to Secure the Cuff When Rolled Up & Ride Light Reflective Accents & Cuffs. That is the only reason not getting 5 stars. Overall wonderful pants love all the zippered pockets, soft shell feel and finally free stickers. Can't wait for a colder day to ride in them!

Fit Comments: Too much fabric below the knee, no taper or buttons to roll the drive-side leg up to get pant away from the chainring.

Close but not quite...

There are many well thought out features on these pants...the pockets are great, reflective accents, nice warm and flexible fabric. Unfortunately I don't think they will get much ride time if any. The cut below the knee is straight with no taper at all leaving a lot of fabric flapping around, its awkward just standing so riding with that much fabric loose near the chainring doesn't sound great.

Just to put it out there...I also purchased two pairs of the jeans and one pair of the Fatjack pants both of which have an excellent slightly tapered lower leg fit that seems much better suited for any type of riding, whether its lunch trail laps or a last mile sprint from the train to the house....
