M's Shaka Flannel
Born to be warm, can’t help but be cool. The Shaka is made with our moisture wicking, keep warm poly yarn to keep you toasty on the chilliest of adventures. Overheating is managed with venting under the arms and easy to fasten brushed snaps. Look cool, feel warm and stay dry. Store your media device or other goodies in the rear zipper pocket, and feel safe cruising the town after dark with reflective accents.
The Shaka flannel – it's made of polyester rather than cotton, and has mesh underarm vents to keep air moving and prevent its wearer from overheating. I'd call it a mid-weight flannel, one that would work for chilly fall rides.
Flannels are my go to in the fall. Whether I'm wearing them to commute, work, or mountain bike, they're a staple. That said, you can't just wear any ole flannel mountain biking without quickly regretting your decision. Club Ride has done a great job of making these both warm and extremely breathable.
In addition to providing excellent wicking ability, the polyester fabric also does a good job insulating on cool days. Even in the fall and winter, heat management is important for comfort, so Club Ride has built in strategic ventilated panels in the underarms. Not only that, since the jersey is a button-down, the front of the jersey is naturally ventilated between the snaps, and can easily be opened up when temperatures rise.
This flannel is my go too for those cold early morning rides. And, heading out to dinner with friends.
Great shirt to ride with during cold weather. Nice wicking properties as well.
Love the look and fit of the Shaka flannel. I've ridden in it and used it to go out. Best of both worlds
10/10 absolutely love it.
Fit: I'm 5'10" at a stocky 210 pounds, not fat, but also not sporting a six-pack. The large fits perfectly. Loose enough to be super comfortable and tight enough to look trim.
Looks: A buddy and I are big fans of Club Ride, so we've got a bunch of different stuff, and I always think Club Ride gear looks better in person than in the photos. That said, colors look accurate in the pics, so it might be the material texture in person that makes it look better. Almost everyone I've worn it in front of has commented on how nice it looks.
Materials: You know it's good quality materials when you snag a single thread on an immovable metal protrusion with your body weight behind it, and that one thread puts up enough resistance to slow you down without fraying or snapping. Was able to just pull it back into place, thread the little excess back in, and it's good as new now. Yeah, it's well-made.
Comfort: Warmth, breathability, shape/design leave nothing lacking.
Overall: Just get it. You won't regret it.
Love the athletic tapered fit! Works great for riding, going for beers, and everything in-between!
