Men's Gunslinger Chamois 8" | Level 2

The Gunslinger 2-Hour Shorts are my go-tos. On bigger days, the Woodchuck 3-Hour shorts have a slightly thicker pad and longer inseam for more support.

The Gunslinger chamois are manufactured to be comfortable on mid/short rides whilst also being less noticeable off the bike (they don’t feel dissimilar to my everyday boxer briefs). The 8-millimetre dual-density foam does an admirable job soaking up vibration without being obstructive when walking around town.

Club Ride’s chamois offerings range across a spectrum of cushion, and the Gunslinger style, which is made for 2-hour rides, falls in the middle. We especially like that the 8-inch inseam doesn’t hike up while pedaling and the wide waistband lays flat under shorts and a pack. The 8mm perforated memory foam increases comfort in the saddle, but it isn’t so bulky that you feel like you’re waddling once you dismount.

I haven’t put myself through the crotch-forging process of riding without a chamois, so I’m pretty particular about wearing one, and wearing the right one on any ride. I’ve found that a lot of shorts liner chamois just don’t cut it — the foam compresses too much, they don’t fit right, and they’re uncomfortable. Club Ride’s shorts liner chamois are cut from a different cloth, however. They fit well, they’re breathable, and most importantly, the foam portion is worth a damn. Club Ride makes a 1, 2, and 3-hour chamois, but I have grown to like the middle child best.
