M's Mountain Surf Short 10"
We've taken our best-selling short and upgraded the fabric and kept the same great fit. The Mountain Surf has a new PowerWeave lightweight 4-way stretch fabric that’s just as durable as your trusty single speed. Ride in more comfort, with great breathability, and more movement than ever before. From gettin' rowdy on the trail to staying rowdy in town, this great do it all short won’t disappoint.
You can count on these tough and durable shorts to keep you comfortable. The 12-inch inseam reaches the tops of your knees for full abrasion and sun protection, and the two-way stretch fabric and gusseted crotch help the shorts move with your body. An adjustable Velcro waistband offers a dialed-in fit, and there’s plenty of storage as well: two front and two rear hand pockets, and two side zippered pockets for your keys and other valuables. Plus, the low-key styling makes these shorts versatile enough for post-ride activities.
The quality of finish is superb, and the shorts wouldn’t look out of place on the bike or downtown.
The Mountain Surfs are a unique short that will fit in anywhere from the trail to the apres barbecue joint. The fabric is nice and light, and the shorts feel at home on the bike.
Great shorts - stylish, comfortable, well-constructed
I own three pairs of the mountain surf shorts. That should pretty much state how much I like them. The shorts are light and stretchy, plus the fabric is tough. The front pockets are deep. My iPhone XR easily fits in them and I like it there riding better than the side leg pockets. A bonus for me is being able to buy 10”inseam length. I’m 5’7” and the shorts hit my knees. I weigh 150lbs, athletic body type and the M fits me perfectly.
Really enjoy the lightweight fabric of this short. It breathes well on top of bike shorts. It’s got good stretch and the gusseted crotch has held up surprisingly well over 18 months. However, the fabric is also highly susceptible to UV fading. I have the blue which began turning purplish and the black faded considerably as well at about 10-12 months. I used these one spring-early summer in Phoenix then in Bozeman. This spring they’re pretty worn out. The rear belt loop is bar tacked to the fabric, but the amount of thread and needle puncturing leaves it significantly prone to tearing… both pair have the bottom of the belt loop torn away from the fabric. They could improve this by using a small backing piece to bar tack to.
Length is perfect on these shorts. They are cut well and don’t seem to ride up the thigh while pedaling. Light weight but durable. Only complaint is I Wish they came in more solid colors. The heather looks a bit like an office trouser cut into shorts.
I own several pairs of these shorts however one issue that I have had with several pair is the zipper breaking. I would suggest replacing the current zipper with a more solid one so the shorts last longer. The material lasts zipper not so much.
