The Helios is all about sun protection and is subsequently UPF 50. This innovative product manages to be almost weightless (it packs extremely small, perfect for bikepacking) with exceptional ventilation, yet offers comprehensive protection thanks to its long sleeves and integrated hood.
The Helios Sun Shirt strikes a balance between being baggy enough to trap some cool air, and form-fitting enough to feel modern and high-tech.
The breathable panels on the underside of the arm you can really feel. When you're on the trail you can feel the air flowing through your jersey which is awesome, that was one of my big compliants about other sun shirts I've used.
The Helos Sun Shirt is a really nice option for people spending a lot of time in very hot, very exposed areas, and the roomy fit helps it trap a bit of cooler air around the body. It’s about as comfortable as you can hope for when the temperature is high and the sun is beating down, and well worth a look if that’s a frequent use case for you.
The Helios is really interesting piece with two distinct fabrics a 50 UPF sleeve and super lightweight body where if you hold it up to the light you can see pin pricks of light coming through and a quarter zip front for venting.
The Helios Sun Shirt has to be one of the most versatile shirts we have tested in recent years. From cycling to fishing, hiking, and so much more the Helios can be your companion on all of your summer adventures. The fabric of the Helios is the most unique we’ve ever seen on a sun shirt with the body of the shirt featuring tiny perforation to keep the air flowing through the shirt and keeping you cool.
Couple of rides now. This shirt is light and comfortable. Haven't tried riding with the hood up over the helmet yet
Don't like to wear sunscreen unless I know I'm riding for hours in the sun. Nice to have this as a back up if I can tell the sun is getting to intense. The sun shirt stays in my messenger bag. I commute via bicycle to work .81 miles (I know some people would say that is not a commute) however if the temperature has dropped a little where I would be cold riding in just a shirt home I have used this several times and found an evening ride comfortable.
My husband loves this light and protective shirt. Has not worn it to ride but has enjoyed wearing it around
You know those nights when this bugs come out hungry…..this shirt is lightweight enough to wear and not overheated!!
I wear sun shirts, i really have to in some situations. Hands down great product. Different than other shirts that i have and fits me well. Ive already put it to the ride and sun test and few times and its cooler and airier than the fabric would seem out of the box. It’s generous without being baggy. The sleeves roll easily and seem to Stay put without any annoying dangly straps. I think i may have to buy the green as well. My only wish is some sort of thumb loop but thats a minor minor ask.
