I've done about 100 miles with these shorts over 5 or so rides. I love the fit. I'm not a fan of giant padding in my bike shorts, and was just using compression shorts before these. I had ordered the Patagonia Nether Bike Liner shorts and loved the pad in those, but had to return them since the leg openings were very tight and the waist band felt too low. The Club Ride shorts are just about a perfect fit (I'm 5'6", ~30" waist, ~140 lbs). Time will tell if they hold up, but the quality of the short makes me think they should last a while. My only complaint is that the flat fell stitching feels a bit rough (the thread itself, not that the stitching isn't flat enough). I noticed this a bit before my first ride and so I used chamois cream. I've worn them as-is since then and haven't had an issue, but my rides haven't been longer than ~25 miles. I know these are called a 1-hour short, but I plan on using them for my main bike shorts since I like to wear a pair of real shorts from Chrome on top for most of my rides.
Avid rider here! Mountain biker who also spends lots of time on the road saddle, so I am very familiar with various brands/chamois/types. I purchased these specifically for mountain biking. While I have a few thick chamois that are comfortable on the pedal up, I needed something that I could push up steep hills and hike sections of trail with. The typical thick chamois wad up, and are quite uncomfortable. That being said, I purchased the Johnson's with the hope they would provide good pedal comfort, and not wad up. I now have 6, and use them exclusively. For a seasoned rider, these are more than enough padding. I put in several 15 mile, 4000 ft trail days right when received and loved them. They stay put, breath well, and fit people with large quads. I am a 33" waist, and have quite sizeable quads from cycling and the size large pair did not feel like a restrictive tourniquet. Where they shine is that when you are hiking a section of trail or pushing up to get to the top of a steep feature (freeride/dj/rock moves/etc), these are hardly noticeable. All in all, I'm dumping all my other mtb chamois, and stick with this one for life!
Partner really likes these chammies. Super comfortable and didn't smell after 2 rides!
